Outdoor Learning - Curiosity Club!

Our school Curiosity Club, adapted from Wilderness Schooling principles, is an inspirational process that offers all learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a natural environment. What makes this style of education work is that it plays to a child’s strengths in a meaningful context and therefore nobody fails. Mrs Laidler is our qualified Outdoor Learning Lead and co-ordinates the curriculum experiences for Curiosity Club, which is run by Mr. Power and Mrs Foster.

Children are fascinated by nature and we capitalise on this, through discovering natural wildlife, building dens and campfire cooking on a fire pit. At the same time, outdoor learning enables us to further explore our curriculum drivers with our children and encourage them to be curious, creative, critical thinkers who are part of and are considerate of their community. All children will have the opportunity to experience Curiosity Club at some point in the school year.
