Barnes Junior School

Proud to learn, proud to achieve

Our VisionWelcome to Barnes!

At Barnes Junior School, we aim to provide the best possible opportunity for all learners to fulfil their potential in a safe and supportive environment where everyone is valued.

We encourage our children to develop the knowledge and skills that will enable them to contribute successfully to the local and global community.

We are a caring school where we respect each other and everyone is proud to learn and proud to achieve.

We look forward to welcoming all who want to join our learning community.

British Values

Barnes Junior School is an inclusive environment where we all respect individual’s liberty and there is a tolerance and understanding of different faiths and beliefs.

All individuals in school have an equal voice which underpins all we do at Barnes.

We model democracy within our school via the Junior Leadership Team, assemblies and our curriculum work. Throughout our work in school, we give our pupils an opportunity to challenge opinions and beliefs that are contrary to fundamental British values.

We celebrate these values which include freedom, tolerance of each other and respect for the rule of law.

Personal and social responsibility is actively encouraged amongst our children from Year 3 to Year 6 and we foster a respect for British institutions. Our well-behaved children care for each other and a family ethos is promoted in school.

We ensure that children leave us understanding the importance of respect and are fully prepared for life in modern Britain.
