Barnes Junior School

Proud to learn, proud to achieve

Year Group Leaders Welcome:

Welcome to Year 6!

The summer holidays seem to have flown by- I hope everyone had a relaxing break and that the children are ready for their final year at Barnes.  I have no doubt that they are going to be great role models for the rest of the school and will do themselves proud this year.

As part of the school’s Time Travellers theme this term the children will be learning about World War 2 in a topic entitled ‘All gave some:some gave all’. A visit to Eden Camp is planned as part of this which the year 6 staff will give you further information about.

PE days are as follows- 6KH- Tuesday; 6HM-Wednesday; 6GD- Thursday; 6CQ- Friday.  Please ensure your child brings in their kit on their day.

Homework will be sent out at the beginning of term as an Autumn Learning Log with a range of tasks to choose from.  A My Maths task will be set every Monday to be returned on the following Monday and spelling and test practice will be sent home when applicable.

We also ask that reading records are to contain 2 comments every week when returned back into school.

We will update this page regularly to share with you the great work going on in the year group.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any comments or queries.
