Year Group Leaders Welcome:
Welcome to Year 3!
I hope you and your children have had a fun but relaxing summer- it’s hard to believe we’re moving into September already. However, we are ready for a fantastic year and one that will be a big change for the children as they move from Infants to Junior school.
We will be covering lots of exciting topics this year, details of each topic will be added to this page on a half termly basis and can be viewed in the documents below.
The children will bring home reading books and homework. We ask that reading books and reading records are in school every day so if needed, children can read with their teachers at any point during the week. Children should be reading for a minimum of 20 minutes every day, if your child reads their home reader, library book or a Bugclub book please sign your child's reading record so their teacher can keep track of this. Prizes will be given to children who read on a regular basis.
3KS have their PE session on a Wedesday; 3KL on a Thursday; and 3KI on a Friday - please ensure your child comes to school wearing their kit on their day.
We will update this page regularly to share with you the great work going on in the year group. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any comments or queries.

Homework
Children will receive spellings and times tables to learn which they will be tested on weekly.
Booklets with the times tables and spellings in will be sent home on a Wednesday to be returned to school the following Monday.
Please note: On occasion your child's spellings or times tables may not change, this is because your child's class teacher would like to spend a little longer learning them.
There is also an expectation that your child will read their home reading book every night and they will have their reading books and reading record in school every day.
Bug Club
Each child has their own personal login which is the first 4 letters of their first name and the first 4 letters of their last name with the password 3KS, 3KI or 3KL. The school code is atkp. Please note: children must only log onto their own personal accounts.
Example:
Name - John Smith
username - johnsmit
password - 3KS
school code - atkp
Year 3 Spellings
Children will be given a spelling list to learn each week in preparation for a spelling test.
Below is a list of the spellings the children will be learning throughout Year 3.
