Barnes Junior School

Proud to learn, proud to achieve

Year 3 - Work for completion during school closure

 Dear Parents/Carers,

Each morning, we would encourage your child to complete an English & SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) task as well as a Maths Task - these are the lessons we would normally do in school at this time, health dependent.

We have also included a range of ‘topic based tasks’ and suggest your child uses these to choose freely from each afternoon.  One task per afternoon is all we ask. Some of these tasks will not require written work and will be more of a ‘challenge’ for your child (for example; bake a cake with a grown-up.) There will be plenty of tasks to choose from as we appreciate some are more accessible than others, depending on your current situation. Books can be returned to school once we re-open and together, the children can celebrate their home-learning achievements.

We ask that you would continue to read with your child at home and practice times tables as often as possible. Additional learning opportunities and resources are also available online on the cloud platform.

Please find below, your child’s login for both times table rock stars and bug club (online reading site).

Finally, look after each other in this difficult time and we look forward to welcoming you back to Barnes Juniors once it is safe to re-open.
